What's new: schemes under development

The Society aims to build 20 new homes each year.

The present development programme includes a bungalow in Baldock Way Cambridge and a scheme of 4 new homes at Welbrook Way, Girton that should go on site in 2009.

21 two bedroom flats at Wulfstan Way Cambridge were completed in July 2008 and opened by Kate Barker, a Housing Corporation board member and a member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee. The scheme is known as Queen Emma Place.

The Society has also purchased 20 new homes at Arbury Park, Cambridge (December 2008) and between November 2008 and February 2009 took on management of 55 new homes at Arbury Park and the Simoco site in Chesterton.

During 2005 we built 13 new homes at Wulfstan Way Cambridge and Seymour Street. These included eight flats for elderly people with mental health problems.

We are keen to work with developers and landowners to provide new affordable homes. On Section 106 sites we can offer very high standards of management and maintenance.

We employ a team of caretakers who provide first class grounds maintenance and caretaking services. All of our main developments have the appearance and standard of high quality private developments, with no discernible difference between rented and owned properties.

Work has now started on 282 new affordable homes at Arbury Park on the northern fringe of Cambridge. A consortium comprising Places for People, bpha, The Papworth Trust and King Street Housing Society will develop and manage these new homes. King Street will be managing properties on behalf of bpha.
