National Tenant Voice

The National Tenant Voice is an organisation being set up by the Government Dept of Communities and Local Government. The National Tenant Voice is intended to give social tenants (including by definition leaseholders and sharing owners) a voice which is influential on policy at a national level. The idea is something akin to a focus group which will work alongside the Tenant Services Authority which is the body which regulates your Society. It’s an exciting idea which could give you the opportunity to have your say.

24 places are available for tenants who are representatives of tenants, tenant organisations or groups. The other 26 places are available for any tenant to apply direct whether or not they are affiliated or involved in any formal group or not. A company called Hays Social Housing is managing the recruitment process and if you are interested you should contact them direct for further details or to make your application, at www.hays.com/jobs/ntv

The closing date is 16th October 2009.

Forty Years Old

The Society celebrated its fortieth anniversary in 2006. The founding meeting of the Society took place on the 24th May 1966. To celebrate this landmark Elaine Wheatley, a past Chair of the Society, has written an updated history, adding to that produced by Derek Taunt in 1991.
